Eagle among chickens

Mistaken identity: you are not a finite local limited person.

CINDY: The story that comes up for me this morning is the story of the farmer who finds a stray egg in the farm yard. And he picks it up and the hen hatches it and it’s an eagle. But the eagle grows up thinking it’s a chicken. And not only is it thinking it’s a chicken, but everything about his world reinforces that it’s a chicken. I mean, even when she says, wait a minute, why do I have these wings like this? Well, you know, you’re just an aberration.

Then she looks up and sees the eagle soaring in the sky as some part of her knows the truth, that she is not a chicken.

But it’s not just overcoming her own belief. It’s the beliefs of the others who keep reinforcing the non truth about her reality.

She has to ask a question. And the question for me was, what if they’re wrong? You know that to just sit with what if , what if everything I’ve been told that I have to believe isn’t true, or at least it’s not relevant to my life, even if it is true. And to let it go, because at some point you absolutely have to let go of what you’ve been told and trust that truth, truth meter inside of you in order to actually claim that identity.

LISTEN: Eckhart: You are that Awareness disguised as a person.

Consciousness appearing as a person

In one way, chickens know what they are, as chicken, and Eagle does not.  But
in another way–chickens too do not know their real nature beyond chicken
form.

We are all conscious living beings appearing in a suit of clothes—I am, you are,
awareness disguised as a person. Our family, society, culture re-inforces this view that “I am a limited local finite separate person.”

So actually, it is not so much that we have to learn something, as to
un-learn.  As Yoda says:  “you must unlearn what you have
learned.”

So first we have to see, or hear, that we have mistaken our identity.  Then
ask the question what really am I.  And let the real Being you are
respond, to recognize itself as an Eagle. Allow great beings to remind us what
we are not, and what we really are, wholeness, holiness.

How Important You Are

And there is another view also: appreciating chickens. We are all flowering
of humanity. When we recognize or recover, or un-cover, our true Intelligence,
we see the human forms as expressions of that Intelligence.  Each of us
has and is a fulfilling and unfolding of God‘s purpose.

Eckhart Tolle “that’s how important you are:  the purpose of the universe is
unfolding through you.” We are contributing to the evolution of the planet by
living our life.

Or to put it another way, your life is the unique vacation, unfolding of the
universal purpose, which includes you.  [Yes! transcribed better than
uniquification]

Ocean and Waving: another metaphor

Waves think they are separate waves and forget they are water.  Wave can touch
the water, recognize are all water.  And also all are wavings of
the Ocean.  For Ocean of Intelligence is both still and Waving.  So
we can appreciate the uniqueness of our waving, and we can recognize that all are
ocean waving. And this is the double standpoint: and it is grow up and wake up.
Both. Open heartedness and sacred agent. So: Be That, rather than this.

S: I think sometimes the real challenge is to be able to hold to that space with end of stillness while you’re holding a screaming child or someone in front of you in your face, you know, to stay in that standpoint, that’s part of what the grand purpose of the universe is teaching us. a continuation of unfoldment.
